Where I Live

This is Teesside. I was born here. I grew up here through the 1970s and 1980s. I left in 1990 to seek fame and fortune. I returned here in 2009. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I hate the way outsiders are quick to verbally shoot the place down in flames because of its unemployment, the lack of ambition, we’re always coming up in the top ten of worst places to live. It’s the bit of England everyone forgets. But I love the fact it is not overcrowded, it has miles of deserted beaches and the North Yorkshire Moors is right on my doorstep.
